VOLUNTEER'S FORUM

It is intend that two to three volunteers' fora, to bring all volunteers together to discuss matters of mutual interest, will be held every year. The first volunteers' forum was held on 31 January 2006 at AIICO PLAZA at Ilupeju, Lagos . The private sector, other NGOS, Volunteers and the press were well represented. Princess A. A. Adeniran, former president of ICAN and chairman Dominion Trust Limited presented a paper on “Capital market and investment” Mr. Folu Ayemi Chairman Tantalizers Ltd. presented a paper on “Small and Medium Scale Enterprises as the Engine of Growth for a Virile Economy” and then (Dr.) B.O.A. Jaiyeola presented a paper on “The Man and his Health”.

REWARD OF VOLUNTEERS

The reward is coming mainly from the emotional satisfaction of helping Small and Medium Enterprises to improve themselves, thereby contributing to rapid economic, social and industrial development of Nigeria . All stand to benefit by a virile SMEs in Nigeria as it has happened in other developed and developing countries of the world. Thus, the services of volunteers as in the countries of Britain , Canada and Australia which are used as models, will be pro bono i.e. virtually free of charge.

Out of pocket money allowances which the client can afford will be payable. These could be very much less than the intrinsic values of the services provided but the bigger compensation is in giving rather than receiving.

Invitation to register as a volunteer is on-going while a computer register is being kept.
